Ball Screws – Sourced, Verified, Delivered
Build a spec, get an internal Configurator ID, and we’ll present vetted options across multiple manufacturers
Stroke / Load / Speed
Consider load, duty cycle, and critical speed at your target stroke length.
Rolled vs. Ground
Trade budget vs precision; ground for low backlash & repeatability.
Environment & IP
Washdown, temperature, and coatings influence selection and lead times.
Stroke / Load Speed
- Stroke: your required travel; longer strokes lower allowable RPM (critical speed).
- Load & duty: continuous vs intermittent + target safety factor.
- Speed: confirm diameter/length combo meets your linear speed target.
Rolled vs Ground
- Rolled: cost-effective; typical backlash bands; great for general automation.
- Ground: precision & low backlash; use when repeatability is tight.
- Tip: if allowable backlash ≤ 10–20 µm, expect ground/preloaded options.
Materials & Coating
- Washdown/Corrosion: prefer 316SS or coatings (Zn/Ni); sealed nuts for splash.
- Temperature: note continuous temp; grease & expansion change with heat.
- Contamination: chips/dust → shields, bellows, or wipers; impacts lead time.
