Load & duty: continuous vs intermittent + target safety factor.
Speed: confirm diameter/length combo meets your linear speed target.

Rolled: cost-effective; typical backlash bands; great for general automation.
Ground: precision & low backlash; use when repeatability is tight.
Tip: if allowable backlash ≤ 10–20 µm, expect ground/preloaded options.

Washdown/Corrosion: prefer 316SS or coatings (Zn/Ni); sealed nuts for splash.
Temperature: note continuous temp; grease & expansion change with heat.
Contamination: chips/dust → shields, bellows, or wipers; impacts lead time.
